Ukraine wants to host Olympics in 2030 or 2032 – sports minister.

Ukraine is considering the possibility of hosting the Olympic Games in 2030 or 2032, Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Huttsait has said.

“We are looking at 2030 and 2032. We are thinking about where to host it [the Olympics] in Ukraine, how much it will cost. We are considering more the Winter Olympics. We are also discussing the hosting of the Youth Olympic Games, or an ambitious goal - an adult Olympics,” Huttsait said, Ukrinform reports with reference to Suspilne.

The minister talked about 2030-2032, when Ukraine will be ready to host such competitions. "We believe that in 10 years we will have development in our country and we will be able to host the Olympic Games," he said.

The sports minister also noted that hosting the Olympics is an ambitious goal that will help create jobs.

As reported, in October 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country has an ambitious sport goal – to host the Olympic Games.
