The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine held its meeting in the format of a video conference due to the spread of the coronavirus disease, according to a statement posted on the president’s website on Thursday evening.
Among the key issues raised by the Ukrainian party were the security situation in Donbas and the mutual release of detained persons.
“The Ukrainian party reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable and complete ceasefire and called on TCG participants to support this initiative. The work is also underway to form lists in the framework of the mutual release of detained persons,” reads the statement.
In addition, TCG participants continued consultations on the next areas of disengagement of forces and hardware, primarily with regard to humanitarian criteria.
It also notes that the parties signed no documents at the meeting.
As Ukrinform reported, the Trilateral Contact Group at its regular meeting on March 11 decided to establish an Advisory Board as part of the TCG political subgroup after consultations with representatives of the OSCE, the French Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany on the implementation of the agreements reached during the Normandy format summit.
