"February 19 is the start of the National Platform for Reconciliation and Unity. Any peace process begins with dialogue. We will help people on both sides of the contact line to listen and hear," wrote the adviser to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

According to Sivokho, much has already been done, but more work remains to be done.

“Our task is to build bridges. Less words - more deeds,” - he emphasized.

As we reported before, Advisor of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Serhiy Syvokho believes that the first step for Donbas reintegration should be the maximal facilitation of contact line crossing through checkpoints.

Answering the question of what the first step in returning of the occupied Donbas territories should be, Syvokho said:" To help our people who are in grey and red zones, to facilitate of contact line crossing procedures through checkpoints. These are the small real steps, which can be implemented quickly. This is the result, which is seen by eyes and it will be great. This is the first step," - Syvokho stated.
