Ice of Chernobyl premiered in Germany. There the film received approving reviews. According to the authors, the picture should dispel public stereotypes about stalkers and find out why these people are so attracted to the exclusion zone.

“The idea to make such a picture appeared long ago, after I dreamed about Chernobyl. They started shooting 4 years ago. They made everything quickly - in 12 days. The film answers the question of why tourists go there illegally (they call themselves stalkers). Why are they drawn there repeatedly? It’s not just that they’ve gone once, namely, why they’re constantly drawn to it,” film director Maryna Dymshitc said.

The main characters are stalkers. This is the first film about Chernobyl without a context of global catastrophe. These people are trying to imagine the exclusion zone as it is now.

“I agreed to join this movie because the idea is non-standard. The film will be shown in the States, Japan and another 126 countries,” general producer Alyona Tymoshenko noticed.

Among the guests of the Kyiv premiere were the stalkers themselves. One of the heroes of the tape is Oleh Shytov. He first visited the exclusion zone five years ago. The man has 34 such extreme trips.

“I am the person who organized everything that you see in the film, and a lot that did not get there. I mean the preparation of the film crew - how and where we will sleep, organize the transition to the zone itself, and make everyone safe. After all, the Chernobyl zone is a fearless place, but a dangerous one,” Oleh Shytov said.

The creators were able to post the movie on the Amazon platform. Negotiations are underway so that the movie can be seen on television.

As we reported earlier, 107 thousand tourists have already visited Chernobyl Exclusion Zone since the beginning of 2019. This was reported by the press service of the State Agency of Ukraine for the management of the exclusion zone.

Reportedly, traffic growth has begun this spring. The number of tourists has increased due to simplification of the clearance procedure, namely the introduction of an electronic pass, the creation of additional infrastructure and increased interest in Chornobyl after the release of HBO’s mini-series "Chernobyl".
