Russian aggression needs to end: Hoekstra discusses war in Ukraine with China's foreign minister.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra, who is visiting China, has emphasized that the Russian aggression in Ukraine needs to end.
Hoekstra wrote this on Twitter following his meeting with Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Qin Gang in Beijing.
“The current geopolitical situation requires dialogue, diplomacy, and cooperation,” Hoekstra wrote.
According to him, they spoke about a broad range of topics, from common interests to matters of concern.
In particular, geopolitical developments, stability in the Indo-Pacific, trade, and concerns about cybersecurity, human rights and an equal level playing field for businesses were discussed.
“We spoke at length about the war in Ukraine. I have emphasized that the Russian aggression in Ukraine needs to end, and that we will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he wrote.
Dutch Minister for Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra is visiting Beijing on May 23-24.
