International partners, by increasing pressure on Russia, can make it behave constructively in the Normandy format talks and help Ukraine, France, and Germany to resolve the armed conflict in Donbas.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said this at a joint briefing with the foreign ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg in Kyiv on May 7, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The Normandy format continues to work, although we would certainly like it to be more effective. The expansion of the Normandy format requires all participants, that is, first of all, Russia. If at this stage it is impossible to change the structure of the Normandy format, then we call on our friends and partners to help us, as well as France and Germany, to put pressure on Russia so that it behaves constructively in the Normandy format," Kuleba said.
Earlier, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak said that a face-to-face meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four countries could take place in May.
The previous meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the countries participating in the Normandy format was held via videoconference on April 19.
