IMF to hold expert consultations on reforms with Energy Ministry.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko discussed the implementation of Ukraine’s energy reform programs with Chief of IMF Mission to Ukraine Ivanna Vladkova Hollar during a working meeting via online conference.

As the press service of the Ministry of Energy informs, the parties discussed the implementation of Ukraine's energy reform programs and the formation of further plans.

An agreement was reached on "further cooperation and expert consultations to plan the next steps in energy sector reform."

Advisers to the Minister, Olena Zerkal and Pavlo Kukhta, took part in the meeting.

As reported, the International Monetary Fund continues discussions with Ukraine on further cooperation within the Stand-By Arrangement, pointing out the need for the Ukrainian side to make more progress in order to receive the next tranche. A corresponding statement was made by International Monetary Fund Chief Spokesperson Gerry Rice in early May 2021.

On June 9, 2020, the IMF approved an 18-month SBA for Ukraine to the tune of about $5 billion. After the first tranche of $2.1 billion was disbursed, four program reviews and several more tranches were projected, but this plan has not been implemented yet.
