Bulgaria assures of its unwavering stance: Crimea is Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has received assurances from many Bulgarian officials that the country's stance on the territorial belonging of Crimea to Ukraine remains unwavering.

"We responded not just with words, because the invitation of the Bulgarian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry is an action in diplomacy, not words. Over the past two days we have received assurances from many Bulgarian officials that Bulgaria's stance on Crimea remains unwavering," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba told journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kuleba added that the Foreign Ministry will figure out how to move forward on this issue, emphasizing that they will never leave such comments unanswered.

As reported, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev said during the pre-election TV debates on November 18 that he considered Crimea "Russian territory" and that EU anti-Russian sanctions were ineffective.

On November 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned Ambassador of Bulgaria to Ukraine Kostadin Kodzhabashev in connection with the president’s statement.

On November 22, the Central Election Commission of Bulgaria announced the final results of the presidential election, according to which Radev was re-elected for a second term.
