Zelensky had phone conversation with Swiss president.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone talk with President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga, the president’s press service reported on Wednesday evening.

“The parties stressed the importance of international coordination of efforts to combat coronavirus and prevent its negative impact. The need to provide social assistance to the population and support national economies was particularly emphasized,” reads the statement.

Zelensky highly praised the steps taken by the Swiss side to provide evacuation opportunities for the citizens of Ukraine and Switzerland who wished to return home.

He also thanked to the president of the Swiss Confederation for the work on preparations of humanitarian cargo for the needs of hospitals in eastern Ukraine, which is taking place in the wake of an extremely difficult epidemic situation in Switzerland.

The parties also discussed the possibilities of supporting the initiative of the Ukrainian and Swiss companies on the rapid establishment of the production of ventilators in Ukraine.

Zelensky welcomed and supported the initiative to hold the fifth International Conference on Reforms in Ukraine in the Swiss Confederation in 2021.

The parties also expressed hope that the president of Switzerland would visit Ukraine after stabilization of the epidemic situation in the world.
