Russian aggression leaves 982 Ukrainian children wounded in Ukraine.

The Russian invasion army has killed 482 children across Ukraine, injuring another 982.

That’s according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.

"As of the morning of May 23, 2023, 1,464 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression. According to the official report by juvenile prosecutors, 482 children were killed and 982 sustained injuries of various degrees of severity," the statement reads.

The data are not finalized as work is ongoing to verify incoming reports from the zones of hostilities, temporarily captured and recently liberated territories.

The largest numbers of children casualties were reported in Donetsk region (460), Kharkiv region (278), Kyiv region (128), Kherson region (102), Zaporizhia region (91), Mykolaiv region (89), Chernihiv region (70), Dnipropetrovsk region (70), and Luhansk region (66).

On May 22, a 10-year-old boy was injured as a result of Russian shelling of Izium, Kharkiv region.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the heads of state and government of 46 members of the Council of Europe adopted the Declaration on the situation of children in Ukraine, undertaking to work on the immediate return of children removed to Russia and bringing to justice those guilty of crimes against minors.
