'Their spirit is unbroken': EU chief visits wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers who are being treated at a hospital in Kyiv.
She said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"In spite of the injuries, their spirit is unbroken. Their determination, intact. These are hard times for Ukraine. Europe is at your side," von der Leyen wrote.
Von der Leyen is on a working visit to Kyiv on June 11.
She held a working meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the Ukraine Reconstruction Platform and the process of the country obtaining EU candidate status.
