The heads of the Novouspenivska and Kyrylivska communities in Zaporizhia region, Ivan Senyk and Ivan Maleyev, have been released from Russian captivity.
This was announced on Telegram by the chairman of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, Ukrinform reports.
Klitschko recalled that Ivan Senyk had been captured by the occupiers on April 13 for his patriotic position and work in the interests of his community, even amid the occupation.
Ivan Maleyev was abducted by the Russian military on April 17 after rejecting the occupiers’ ultimatum to collaborate.
"Eight Ukrainian mayors are still being held captive by orcs. Their fate remains unclear," Klitschko said.
