Moldova announces complete rejection of Russian gas.
Moldova no longer uses Russian natural gas or electricity after ending its dependence following the outbreak of Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine.
Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated this on Thursday at a security conference in Bucharest, Ukrinform reports citing The Guardian.
"If at the start of the war 100% of energy consumed in Moldova originated in Russia, today Moldova can exist with absolutely no natural gas or electricity from Russia," he said.
"Moldova no longer consumes Russian gas, it is integrated in the European energy network both technically and commercially," Recean emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, the EU has agreed on a so-called joint gas purchasing platform that allows member states to avoid competition with each other in the global energy market and take full advantage of the European Union's joint purchasing power. Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Balkans are also members of this platform.
In April, Moldova's Energocom signed a framework agreement with Greek gas operator DEPA Commercial.
