G7 countries looking for ways to resume grain exports from Ukraine - Johnson.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that London and the G7 countries are working intensively to find ways to resume Ukrainian grain exports.

According to Ukrinform, the UK government said this in a press release following a phone call between the leaders of the two countries.

"The Prime Minister outlined to President Zelensky the intensive work taking place with international partners to find ways to resume the export of grain from Ukraine to avert a global food crisis. He said that the UK would work with G7 partners to push for urgent progress," the statement read.

The British government noted that the leaders "agreed on next steps and the imperative for Russia to relax its blockade and allow safe shipping lanes."

According to the press release, Johnson and Zelensky discussed the importance of the international community continuing to work and act together, so that Ukraine succeeds and Putin fails.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in a phone call with Johnson, both leaders discussed strengthening defense support and the work on security guarantees for Ukraine, fuel supply and the unblocking of ports.
