Russia fired 18 cruise missiles on Ukraine Tuesday. Eight missiles shot down

On May 3, the Russian aggressors fired 18 cruise missiles on Ukraine, eight of which were shot down by the air defense units.

As the Air Force Command posted on Facebook, Russia's Tu-95 or Tu-160 strategic bombers fired missiles from the Caspian region on May 3.

“About 18 missiles were fired. They hit the infrastructure facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, and Zakarpattia regions. Missile strikes were also launched on Odesa and Donetsk regions by other means,” the report reads.

According to preliminary data, on May 3, at least eight cruise missiles were shot down by the air defense units of the Air Force and the Land Forces of Ukraine, the data are being specified. Moreover, seven drones and one missile could have been downed.

It is noted that the Russian army wants to preserve its aircraft and helicopters so they do not enter the airspace controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Aviation of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made dozens of sorties over the past day. Under cover of fighter jets, the strike group launched about ten missile and bomb strikes on clusters of enemy troops, ammunition depots and manpower.
