Canada sending another package of defense aid to Ukraine.

Canada is allocating CAD 500 million (nearly USD 400 million) in military aid to Ukraine.

This was announced by the Canadian Prime Minister's Office during Justin Trudeau's surprise visit to Ukraine on Saturday, June 10, Ukrinform reports.

Canada is firmly committed to responding to the ongoing illegal and unprovoked invasion by continuing to provide military assistance, such as $500 million in new defense aid to support the nation’s capability to respond to Russian aggression, according to the report.

The new defense aid package also provides for the transfer to Ukraine of 288 AIM-7 missiles for air defense systems.

In addition, Canada will extend the mandate of the UNIFIER military training mission until 2026, within the framework of which more than 35,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already been trained in the past eight years.

Ottawa will also participate in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets and help maintain these aircraft.

It is noted that within the framework of the international "tank coalition", Canada will help set up a maintenance center for Leopard 2 tanks in Poland.

In addition, Canada will deliver 10,000 105mm rounds and complete in the coming weeks the previously announced delivery of 122 Roshel armored vehicles. So far, 88 such vehicles have arrived in Ukraine.

It should be noted that, per capita, Canada's aid to Ukraine is one of the world’s largest.
