Ukraine to send extra 30,000 t of wheat to Yemen as part of Grain from Ukraine.

A tanker is being loaded in the port of Chornomorsk. It will send 30 thousand tons of wheat to Yemen as part of humanitarian aid.

This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Ukrinform says.

"As part of the Grain from Ukraine program, the Negmar Cicek vessel arrived at the Port of Chornomorsk for loading. It will carry 30 thousand tons of wheat to Yemen," the statement said.

It was noted that, during the Grain Initiative, Yemen received more than 200 thousand tons of humanitarian wheat from Ukraine.

According to the ministry, Ukraine has already shipped almost 500 thousand tons of humanitarian wheat cargo on 16 ships. This is nearly 10% of the crop’s total supply. It also accounts for about 16.2% of the volume sent to countries in need.

Ukraine has shipped 140 thousand tons of wheat under the Grain from Ukraine program.

In total, Ukraine has shipped 25.2 million tons of agricultural products from the ports of Odesa region as part of the grain corridor. The products are shipped to Asia, Europe, and Africa.

As reported, the Grain from Ukraine program was initiated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. It involves the purchase of Ukrainian grain by partner countries. The grain is transferred to countries experiencing humanitarian crises. The program is implemented in partnership with the World Food Program under the auspices of the United Nations. More than 30 countries have joined the initiative. They have provided nearly $200 million in total to finance it.
