Shmyhal thanks US for supporting Ukraine's economy during war.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal thanked U.S. President Joseph Biden and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo for the decision to extend the suspension of additional import tariffs on steel from Ukraine for another year.
“The President of the United States has extended the suspension of additional tariffs on steel from Ukraine for one year. The Proclamation also covers products from EU made from steel originating in Ukraine. Grateful to U.S. President, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo for their important support to Ukraine’s economy during the war,” the Head of Government posted on Twitter.
As reported, the USA exempted Ukrainian steel from a 25% tariff for another year. In addition, U.S. President Biden supported the initiative of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Raimondo and also suspended import tariffs on EU’s steel which is made from Ukrainian raw materials.
