Minister Reznikov at Copenhagen Conference: Ukraine needs to stabilize front line, prepare counteroffensive.

Ukraine needs to stop the Russian aggressor, stabilize the front line and prepare a counteroffensive operation to liberate the occupied areas.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov at the Copenhagen Conference for Northern European Defense Allies in support of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukraine continues to fight, and our goal has remained unchanged: it is to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state within the internationally recognized borders. For this purpose, we need to stop the enemy, stabilize the front line (its length is over 2,500 kilometers, or 1,500 miles, and active hostilities are taking place along the front line of 1,300 kilometers), and prepare a counteroffensive operation,” Reznikov told.

In his words, several priority groups of capabilities were determined, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine should acquire in order to achieve the goal.

“They include enhancing the anti-access and area denial capabilities in order to protect the north-western part of the Black Sea, ensuring air defense for large cities and critical infrastructure facilities, protecting the state border with Belarus, as well as certain capabilities required to stabilize the front line and create conditions for the counteroffensive operation,” Reznikov noted.

Reznikov emphasized that Russia is a dangerous enemy that does not respect rules and has huge resources.

“It is a terrorist state that has no respect for human rights and disregards casualties. It commits the mass killings of prisoners of war and civilians. It uses disinformation, migration, grain, energy and nuclear power as weapons. Its tactics poses a threat to all of us,” Reznikov stressed.

Reznikov expressed gratitude to the partner countries that had united in the ‘Ramstein format’ under the leadership of the United States for the aid they had already provided to the Ukrainian Army.

According to Reznikov, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated a large number of Russia’s elite troops.

“There is one thing that unites the Russian cities of Murmansk, Kaliningrad and Pskov – their cemeteries are rapidly expanding,” Reznikov added.

In his words, the coordinated actions of Ukraine and partner countries can “make all of Europe, including the Baltic states, safe”.

“Ukraine is ready to do its share; we need the tools. The sooner we get them and the larger their volumes are, the sooner we will achieve our common goal – a peaceful Europe,” Reznikov stressed.

A reminder that twenty-six countries are participating in the Conference for Northern European Defense Allies in support of Ukraine, taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
