Vereshchuk: National Information Bureau established in compliance with Geneva convention on POWs.

Ukraine has created a National Information Bureau in accordance with the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk has said.

"From today, we have established a national information bureau in accordance with the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War of August 12, 1949. It was determined that the state-owned enterprise Ukrainian National Center for Peace Development, under the aegis of the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, will be a special legal entity of public law and perform the functions of the national information bureau," Vereschuk said.

According to her, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed the International Red Cross about the establishment of the bureau.

"We hope that our work will be fruitful, and most importantly, productive," she said.
