Two civilians killed in Russia’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk.
On May 15, 2022, two civilians were killed in Russia’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Region.
The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“A man and a woman died at the scene. Russians shelled a house located in the city’s old districts at about 04:00 p.m. One more man was taken to hospital,” the report states.
In addition, nine civilians were injured in Russia’s artillery strike on a hospital in Sievierodonetsk yesterday.
A 15-year-old boy was taken to a children’s hospital in the city of Dnipro after he was injured in Russia’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk.
According to Haidai, the Ukrainian military are keeping the defense near such settlements as Borivske and Toshkivka.
“Near Borivske, Russian invaders were severely repulsed and retreated. They also launched attacks towards Toshkivka,” Haidai noted.
In his words, 20 residential houses were damaged in such settlements as Komyshuvakha, Katerynivka, Novozvanivka and Troitske. Eleven houses were damaged in Hirske, Zolote and Toshkivka, including three apartment blocks.
Seven apartment blocks and a vocational school were damaged in Russia’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk yesterday.
Russian troops also fired on such settlements as Lysychansk, Pryvillia, Novodruzhesk, Rubizhne, Voievodivka and Bilohorivka with artillery and multiple launch rocket systems.
Ukrainian defenders repulsed 17 enemy attacks on May 15, 2022, having destroyed three Russian tanks, one artillery system, six armored fighting vehicles and one motor vehicle.
The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down two enemy helicopters (Ka-52 and Mi-28) and five Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Over the past week, 93 enemy attacks have been repelled in Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region. The Ukrainian military destroyed one air defense missile system, 58 tanks, 26 artillery systems, 98 armored vehicles, seven special engineering vehicles, 33 motor vehicles and one anti-aircraft gun. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down four Russian helicopters and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles.
