Mariupol remains under constant fire of invaders. The town residents are in a very critical condition.
"Mariupol remains under constant fire. The enemy turns the town into ruins. Residents are in a very critical condition," reads the report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the situation regarding the Russian invasion as of March 13, 2022.
It is specified that the Russian troops launched airstrikes in the north of Donetsk region. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Sviatohirsk Holy Dormition Lavra, an evacuation train, and other facilities were damaged, and people were killed and wounded. The police document the aftermath of the shelling and help people.
"Twenty-two populated localities came under Russian fire: Mariupol, Avdiivka, Vuhledar, Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Sviatohirsk, Mykolayivka, Druzhkivka, Svitlodarsk, Toretsk, Stepne, Yehorivka, Petrivske, Verkhniotoretske, Kamyanka, Oleksandropil, Novoselivka-2, Novobakhmutivka, Pisky, Pavlivka, Velyka Novosilka, Brusyn railway station," the report reads.
Information about the victims is currently being clarified. There are police officers among the dead and wounded. At least 65 facilities were damaged: houses, the Sviatohirsk Holy Dormition Lavra, shops, train, bridge, gas pipeline, etc.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs mentioned separately that the Sviatohirsk Lavra was attacked by the invaders at night, and the living quarters were damaged as a result of the shock wave. It is noted that there were 529 adults and 200 children in one of such premises and 200 people in another one, there are wounded. Police officers worked on the spot, and the war crime was documented.
"At the Brusyn railway station, the evacuation train was damaged by the wreckage. One carriage hostess was killed and another one was injured. The train was to evacuate residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, who were waiting for rescue at the Lyman station, including about 100 children," the Ministry informed.
