Ukraine was able to organize the work of three humanitarian corridors and save about 35,000 people from the cities of Sumy, Energodar and Kyiv region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said.
"Today we managed to organize the work of three humanitarian corridors. From the city of Sumy, from cities and towns of Kyiv region and from Energodar. In total, about 35,000 people were saved," the head of state said in his video message on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
According to him, on March 10, they plan to open six more humanitarian corridors to take people out, in particular, from Mariupol, Izium and Volnovakha.
"[They need] to be taken to the safe cities of our free Ukraine. And I am sure that every Ukrainian whose help these people need will do everything possible to make them feel our care. Until they can return home," Zelensky said.
