Ukrtelecom notes high payment discipline of subscribers.

Subscribers have become more responsible for paying for communications services, as recent problems with communications due to power outages have raised awareness of its importance, Ukrtelecom General Director Yuriy Kurmaz said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"In general, payment discipline is now at a fairly high level: if we take accounts receivable before the active phase of hostilities as 100% and compare with the indicators today, then now it is 20% lower. This is without taking into account the debt that arose in the first two and a half months of large-scale aggression," he said.

"That is, now our users, realizing the importance and need to be in touch, are more responsible in paying for the services provided to them," the head of Ukrtelecom stated.

According to him, the situation with payments for services provided to government agencies has also improved: the debt is not growing and even tends to decrease.

"It seems to me that local authorities have finally realized how important it is for our beneficiary users to have access to fixed telephony services, especially in emergency cases. Therefore, this item of receivables, at least, does not grow with us, and even tends to decline," Kurmaz said.

The general director of Ukrtelecom added that during the war, the provider changed the policy of disconnecting for receivables, in particular, after February 24, subscribers were not disconnected for two months, and now subscribers in the de-occupied territories are given a grace period.

According to him, the main volume of receivables was formed in the first months of a full-scale war - in February-March-April - at the expense of users who either left the country or moved to other regions of the country and do not plan to return to their previous permanent place of residence in the near future.

Ukrtelecom is the largest fixed-line operator in Ukraine. A significant part of his clients are government agencies, educational, administrative and medical institutions, as well as emergency services.
