"The current session of the IRENA Assembly is an important event, as Ukraine becomes a full member of this organization in 2018. This opens prospects for further cooperation with more than 150 IRENA member countries," Serhiy Savchuk stated.

In particular, on January 12, the Ukrainian delegation will meet with Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency, Adnan Z. Amin, to discuss the potential of Ukraine’s renewable energy, the latest legislative achievements and potential ways of cooperation.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, on December 5, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada approved the law “On Ukraine’s joining the Statute of the International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA”.
