Groysman not ruling out attempts to stop pension reform through court

He stated this in an interview with the Ukraine 112 television channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I know that now there are those who are trying to change this system - either file court lawsuits against the government or invent something else so as to stop the process of stabilizing the pension system itself. I have only one question. Will they offer people to bring back the increased pension they have already received?" Groysman said.

At the same time, he said that he "will protect the reform" and it would be implemented.

According to him, a change in the pension system will help ensure a systemic increase of pensions for current retirees and stability for future retirees.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 3, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on pension reform, which envisages, among other things, an increase in pensions from October 2017 and an increase in the minimum pensionable service period from 15 to 25 years from January 1, 2018.

The law came into effect on October 11.
