As reported, Sept. 8 in the evening, a car was blown up in Kyiv downtown, killing Georgian citizen Timur Makhauri. A woman sitting next to the driver was taken to hospital in grave condition, and the third passenger, her seven-year-old daughter, only suffered a burn and is now safe.
Police is investigating the incident as a homicide and says the crime might be also investigated as a terrorist attack.
The explosive was and equivalent of 600 gram to 1 kg of TNT. Police say they have several versions of the incident.
SBU said Makhauri has long been a target for Russian secret services. He was born in the Chechen Republic and was a personal enemy of Ramzan Kadyrov.
