This was announced by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko in Pokrovsk, the Donetsk region, Censor.NET reports.
Poroshenko in his speech thanked doctors who work in battlefield conditions at Ukraine's frontline in the Donbas. More than 3,500 of them have participated in combat activities, the president said. More than 200 have been wounded since the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) started in the east in 2014, 38 were killed.
Among them - 25-year old Hero of Ukraine Ihor Zinych, combat medic. Ihor was supposed to go home on rotation basis, but he skipped it and decided to stay at the frontline.
"He had an important role there - he was saving 'Cyborgs' [Ukrainian fighters who bravely defended the Donetsk airport for several months in winter of 2014-2015 - ed.] in the Donetsk airport. Ihor saved lives of 40 comrades, but failed to save his own. Rest in peace, Ihor, we'll never forget," said Poroshenko and asked for a moment of silence in memory of all those medics who died at the frontline.
